We’re delighted to share details of our next Ipswich Maritime Trust talk:
Join us on Wednesday 3rd December, 7:30–9:00 pm, at Museum Street Methodist Church for “The Shipping Forecast: 100 years old and counting….” with Andy Beharrell.
Andy will discuss how, for 100 years, the Shipping Forecast has informed sailors, soothed listeners, and become part of our national identity. Andy will take us on a journey through its origins, the people and places behind those familiar sea areas, and how this enduring broadcast found its way into popular culture – even the London 2012 Olympics!
