Information - Ipswich JAFFA Running Club weekly sessions
Ipswich JAFFA is a friendly running club where you will find that there are plenty of members who are very willing to help and advise.
We meet every Monday evening at the Northgate Sports Club Ipswich, where the announcements start at 7:15pm; these announcements incorporate how members have performed in race events the previous week, any forthcoming events such as social, races and club trips. Running group leaders are then asked to come to the front to announce the distance and speed of their group run that evening. There are usually 5 or 6 group leader running distances from 4-8 miles and at speeds from 10 mins to 6:30 mins per mile. We also have a beginners group for anyone unable to achieve these distances or speeds at this stage. We aim to be out running by 7:30pm at the latest.
The Junior section meets at 6:45pm. Juniors from the ages of 10 to 16 are welcome.
Once a month there is a Runner of the Month award, which is also presented on Monday evenings. Runners are nominated by other members, if they have run well during that month.
One of our members then takes a club warm up session before departing for hopefully a good run.
If you are not a member then why not come along to one of our Monday night sessions, and enjoy the atmosphere, and meet new friends too. Note – Come along – fees apply upon joining the Club. Fees range from £31 upwards.
