The first Ipswich Community Resilience Fair is here!

Ipswich Borough Council, Suffolk Resilience Forum and Suffolk Joint Emergency Planning Unit are jointly inviting you to find out how Suffolk prepares for, responds to, and recovers from emergencies of all kinds.

Come to meet and talk to Community Resilience teams to find out how you can be better prepared in an emergency! Whether you want practical safety advice, to see how emergency services work, or just meet local groups and support networks, there is something for everyone.

What’s on

Visitors can explore a wide range of interactive activities, demonstrations and information stands, including:

• Suffolk Resilience Forum, Ipswich Borough Council and Suffolk Joint Emergency Planning Unit 
  Learn how you can improve your own preparedness and play a role in supporting your community during emergencies

• Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service 
  Climb aboard a fire engine and find out more about fire safety and emergency response

• SCC Floods Team & Environment Agency 
  Experience an interactive flood wave machine and understand flood risks and preparedness

• British Red Cross, St John Ambulance & Community Action Suffolk 
  Tour a British Red Cross response vehicle and learn about first aid and crisis support

• Raynet (Radio Amateurs’ Emergency Network) 
  Discover how radio communications play a vital role during emergencies

• Faith Groups and Local Organisations 
  Learn about the wide range of support available within the community
