In Conversation with Hattie Hasan MBE & Clare Friel:
Breaking Barriers, Building Futures

Join us for brunch, relaxed networking, and the inspiring stories of two women reshaping leadership in the UK’s construction and infrastructure sectors.

This exclusive Suffolk Business Women event will feature Hattie Hasan MBE and Clare Friel, two trailblazers redefining leadership in the UK’s construction and infrastructure sectors.

Hattie Hasan, founder of Stopcocks Women Plumbers, has spent over three decades breaking barriers in one of the most male-dominated industries in the UK. From her early days on the tools to building a nationwide network of women plumbers, she has championed skills, professionalism, and visibility for women in the trade, inspiring the next generation to see opportunity where others see obstacles.

Clare Friel, founder of Women in Construction Anglia and Managing Director of Friel, has created a bold platform for empowering women across East Anglia’s construction industry, driving business growth through impactful storytelling and PR, and ensuring female voices are heard in every conversation about the industry’s future.

Together, Hattie and Clare will share their stories of challenging entrenched norms and carving out space in traditionally male environments. Their stories are a testament to the power of vision, determination, and a refusal to accept “that’s just the way it is” offering an inspiring blueprint for building more inclusive and future-ready workplaces.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
