getonthesoapbox is absolutely delighted to welcome to Ipswich – for the very first time – one of our favourite poets in the world, ever! The brilliant Harry Baker. If you’ve ever met Amy SoapBox, you’ll have heard some of this man’s poems (from his awesome book The Sunshine Kid) covered at her open mic events. From his brilliant ‘haiku deathmatch’ poems, to the legendary ‘Paper People’, we really couldn’t be more excited to invite Harry Baker back on the SoapBox, Join us on Tuesday 21st May for an unforgettable night of spoken word, poetry, comedy and more. Seated event.

After a sell-out Edinburgh Fringe Run and subsequent 40-date UK Tour, World Poetry Slam Champion Harry Baker is back with a brand new show celebrating the wonder that is being alive. Featuring brand new poems about death, postcodes and his favourite German wheat bear Schöfferhofer, The maths-loving, TED-talking, German-speaking, battle-rapping, happy-crying, self-bio-writing unashamed human brings his signature playfulness and poignancy that has made him a fan favourite and reached millions of people all over the world.

Tickets now available online >>>HERE<<< through WeGotTickets, £12 adv, £10 conc, £15 on the door (if available). WeGotTickets charge a 10% booking fee, ontop of ticket price. Doors 7.30pm, Starts at 8pm, finished at 10pm. Seated event. If you’d like to avoid the booking fee, please do come to a ‘Words & Verses’ event, where tickets will be available to purchase directly from Amy SoapBox.

Ipswich has completed the first stage of its bid to become the UK City of Culture 2029, submitting its Expression of Interest to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).
