Information - FREE Teacher training day: Exploring Migration Stories

As part of our project Arrivals: Celebrating Migration to Suffolk we are delighted to invite teachers from across Suffolk to a free training day focused on local migration stories and ways you can use them in your classroom.

The day will include:

  • Launch and demonstration of new learning resources based on stories from the Arrivals project
  • A workshop with Kate Argyle from Historic England on migration to Suffolk over time
  • An interactive session with Ivya Scott exploring Windrush at the national and local level, using artifacts and stories, and sharing resources. An opportunity to hear a Windrush elder and explore the essence of Caribbean storytelling.

Suitable for primary and secondary school teachers.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Historic England can offer up to £130 to help towards cover costs for one teacher from each school.

This event is supported by funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
