Information - Fisherman’s Friends

Ahoy, Ipswich! We have some absolutely fantastic news to share for your 2027 diaries. The UK’s favourite sea shanty crew, Fisherman’s Friends, are bringing their incredible vocals, rich harmonies, and maritime charm right here to the Ipswich Regent Theatre!

Fresh from their sold-out 2026 UK dates and a massively successful tour down under in Australia, the beloved Cornish group has just announced a brand-new UK tour for 2027—and we are thrilled that Ipswich is on the map.

From the Harbour to the Big Screen

For those who don’t know their incredible story, Fisherman’s Friends started out as a group of lifelong friends singing traditional sea shanties on the harbour in Port Isaac, Cornwall, to raise money for local charities. Since those humble beginnings, their journey has been nothing short of extraordinary!

Their heartwarming tale has inspired two hit feature films and a hugely successful touring stage musical. This exciting tour announcement comes just as the group launches the very first Fisherman’s Friends Festival in Cornwall, a landmark three-day celebration of music, maritime heritage, and Cornish culture.

When you join them at the Regent Theatre, you can expect a wonderful, feel-good night filled with community spirit, hearty laughs, and those superb, foot-tapping shanties we all know and love.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
