Information - Depressive Wave Exhibition

A few months ago BBC Look East did a good news story with us, Applaud and Rocket Music. We all said lovely positive things about being independent businesses in Ipswich. Unfortunately the caption under my photo on the website quoted a brief non positive phrase I used when describing the flux of the social climate – I had referred to the current economic and social slump as a depressive wave over the town, and that it is a positive thing because it means it can only get better.
.
Depressive Wave is a phrase I used briefly and will ever be known for on the BBC website🤦🏽‍♀️.
.
Therefore, this exhibition explores our town through a whimsical and playful perspective. This is the way I experience our town, vibrant, colourful and quirky and time is documented through the architecture. The varying shades of brickwork always being a particular favourite of mine, some blanketed in moss.
.
If you know me, it won’t be a surprise to learn that I am still painting and adding to this exhibition, please come and peruse, but don’t stand on the wet paint. 😊
.
Open Tuesday to Fridays 9-4
Saturdays 10-4

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
