Information - Common Ground Collage Workshop

Get Creative at the Common Ground Collage Workshop

Are you looking to connect with fellow creatives and celebrate what makes our town so special? We are thrilled to invite you to the Common Ground Collage Workshop, a vibrant afternoon of art and storytelling happening right here in Ipswich!

In collaboration with Young Artists in Suffolk, this workshop is all about celebrating Ipswich’s diverse communities and our thriving local arts scene. It’s a space to explore your own cultural heritage and share your unique stories through the wonderful medium of collage.

What to Expect

Whether you are a seasoned artist or haven’t picked up a pair of scissors since primary school, this is for you! We are especially encouraging young creatives to join us—it’s a fantastic way to find a community of like-minded, “artsy” people in a relaxed environment. The focus is on three simple things: Craft, Celebration, and Connection.

This is a “drop-in” style event, so there is no pressure to be there right at the start. Feel free to pop in anytime between 2pm and 4pm to get stuck into some crafting.

When and Where

Mark your calendars for a creative Saturday afternoon!

  • Date: Saturday 14th March 2026
  • Time: 2pm – 4pm (Drop-in)
  • Venue: The Church, Ipswich

This exciting workshop is part of the ‘Common Ground’ project and has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Norfolk & Norwich Festival’s Young Creatives bursary.

Accessibility & Facilities

We want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable. The Church offers step-free access, and the main venue area, the bar, and the accessible toilets are all located on the same floor. If you have specific requirements to make your visit easier, please feel free to speak with the organisers on the day.

A Quick Note on Photography

The talented Kezia Tan will be attending to capture the energy and creativity of the workshop. Please note that if you are under 18, you will need parental permission to be photographed. Just let the team know if you have any questions about this!

We can’t wait to see what you create. Come along, bring a friend, and let’s celebrate the artistic spirit of Ipswich together!

Pride in Place

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
