About Spencer Cullum and ‘Coin Collection 3’

Spencer Cullum is a London-born musician who now makes waves in Nashville. He’s not just an engaging frontman; he’s a celebrated pedal steel player and guitarist who has lent his unique sound to giants like Dolly Parton, Angel Olsen, Kesha, and Miranda Lambert. As *SHINDIG!* says, “As a frontman, Spencer Cullum makes the background shine.”

His latest work, the final instalment in the trilogy, Coin Collection 3, was born in the solitude of his Nashville garden shed. It was there he found an escape from the “spew of hatred and vitriol” that often soundtracks the modern day.

This deeply felt album acts as a kind of remedy for reality, blending topical concerns (like the climate crisis and late-stage capitalism) with the rich, occult-tinged folklore of his native England. Cullum turned to ancient relics and midnight rites for comfort, creating a narrative that seeks connection and understanding.

This May matinee gives you a unique chance to experience Spencer Cullum’s distinctive sound—a captivating blend of psych-folk genius and thoughtful commentary—live in Ipswich.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
