Information - BTCP: Kelley Stoltz

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Brighten The Corners Presents is bringing the incredible American songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kelley Stoltz to the stunning setting of The Church this October!

If you’re a fan of melodic craftsmanship, psych-tinged pop, or garage rock, this is a Wednesday night you’ll want to clear your diary for. Kelley is a true DIY innovator with a pedigree that speaks for itself, having served as a rhythm guitarist for Echo & the Bunnymen and currently playing drums for the legendary Robyn Hitchcock.

A Prolific Musical Journey

Hailing from San Francisco, Kelley Stoltz has been a fixture of the underground rock scene since the late 90s. With a massive catalogue of albums released on iconic labels like Sub Pop, Third Man, and Castle Face Records, he is known for playing almost every instrument on his recordings.

His sound is a beautiful blend of 60s pop auteurism and the quirky energy of 80s power-pop and new wave. Fans of MOJO, Brooklyn Vegan, and John Dwyer (of Osees) have long championed his work, and it’s easy to see why. Not only is he a prolific creator, but he also hosts the “Vinelands” show on the legendary radio station KEXP!

New Music for 2026

This show comes at an exciting time, following the release of his 19th full-length album, If You Don’t Know Me, Buy Now. The new collection continues his exploration of hook-laden psych-pop and richly textured arrangements. The record even features guest appearances from members of the Osees, Dance Hall Crashers, and the Dwarves.

Seeing an artist of this calibre in the atmospheric surroundings of The Church is going to be something truly special for the Ipswich music scene.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
