About the Event

Brighten The Corners proudly presents John Bramwell, the voice behind the acclaimed band I Am Kloot, for a special matinee performance right here in Ipswich. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy an intimate show with one of the UK’s finest singer-songwriters — all set in the charming surroundings of The Church.

Why You Should See John Bramwell

John Bramwell’s music has earned glowing praise from critics and fans alike. Lauren Laverne calls him “a unique voice both literally and metaphorically,” while The Guardian describes his new songs as “spellbinding.” Even actress Cate Blanchett named him her “favourite songwriter of all time,” and the New York Times referred to him as “the UK’s finest export.”

A Storied Career

From 1999 to 2014, Bramwell was the singer of I Am Kloot — a journey that included a Mercury Prize nomination for the album The Sky At Night (2010), a Top 10 UK chart hit with Let It All In (2013), extensive touring across the UK and Europe, and a grand farewell concert at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall featuring an orchestra.

John Bramwell as a Solo Artist

Since stepping out on his own, John Bramwell has carved a new path. His 2023 sophomore solo album, The Light Fantastic, marks a joyful shift away from the darker tones of I Am Kloot. With lush strings, four-part harmonies, and beautifully crafted songs exploring life, humanity, and the universe, the album has been met with unanimous praise across the UK press.

John himself describes this work as “the most uplifting songs of my career” and truly finds joy again in creating music. His live shows bring his songs to life like nothing else — with heartfelt performances, engaging and playful banter, and a connection to his devoted fans that is both rare and wonderful.

The Live Experience

Over the last few years, Bramwell has toured extensively throughout England, Scotland, and Wales, filling theatres, churches, arts centres, and festivals with fans eager to share special moments. His razor-sharp wit and haunting vocals draw the audience in, making every show memorable. In fact, his hilarious and insightful inter-song storytelling has even sparked talk of a comedy tour!

His 2025 show at Beautiful Days Festival was celebrated as the weekend’s highlight by God Is In The TV, and the 2026 tour promises to be even bigger, including a much-anticipated visit to Ireland and some of the UK’s finest venues.
