About Jaguar Skills

Part man, part mystery, and ALL pop culture encyclopedia — Jaguar Skills is no ordinary DJ. Not only can he identify samples with lightning speed, but he can also tell you the recording date, studio, musicians involved, and engineers behind the scenes. Give him time, and he might even tell you what they had for breakfast that day!

This insatiable hunger for musical detail has shaped his life ever since he was a maverick teenage publisher and music journalist behind Downlow, one of the UK’s earliest hip-hop magazines. Today, his sonic activism and musical storytelling continue to inspire through his many roles: artist, DJ, producer, curator, and archivist.

You’re just as likely to find Jaguar Skills touring with The Prodigy as you are hearing his work on Netflix themes for comedian Romesh Ranganathan. He also crafts entire film scores in his mind — like his debut album The Man In The Jaguar Mask — or creates intricate mixes with his Hip-Hop Timebomb project. These epic mixes showcase his encyclopedic knowledge and dexterous turntable skills, leaving audiences both amazed and scratching their heads.

Since his first DJ set in 2002, Jaguar Skills has amassed a stunning list of credits and collaborations, from producing Lupe Fiasco’s breakthrough hit “We Love You” (2006) to generating fresh bangers from forgotten acapellas like KRS-One’s “Big Up New York” (2014). His respected presence in the drum & bass scene features releases on renowned labels such as RAM Records and Viper Recordings.

Jaguar Skills weaves and bobs through musical history with passion, nerdy obsession, and a true celebration of the culture. This night promises to be a masterclass in entertainment and expertise — don’t miss it!

Why You Should Be There
