Information - Abstract Collage with Sara Barker

In this exciting workshop, you will have the opportunity to experiment with various mark making techniques which includes making your own ‘tools’ to use with acrylic paints and inks, to create your own unique collage papers. By then cutting and tearing these, you will shape and layer to create beautiful abstract compositions. Plain paper or ephemera such as old book pages, packaging and music sheets will be the background to your colours, patterns and cut out shapes. You will get to explore your own creativity and develop composition skills so that you come away with pieces of collage art completely unique to you.

You will be provided with everything you need for the workshop, however you are welcome to bring extra papers, images or photos if you wish to add a more personal touch. This is a relaxed and friendly workshop designed to be enjoyable for everyone. There will be example collages for inspiration and support and guidance with each part of the session.

Materials and refreshments included.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
