Information - Wolsey Writers

Meet. Write. Share. Wolsey Writers is a creative writing group based at New Wolsey Theatre since 2015.

Our community includes novelists, scriptwriters, poets, storytellers, children’s literature, comedy, and nonfiction. We welcome writing in any genre. We welcome writers from diverse backgrounds. We welcome all levels of experience and aspirations of every size – from haiku to blockbuster trilogy.

Led by Katie Ward, an award-winning author from Suffolk, every session includes tips to improve your creative practice, focused writing time, peer support and inspiration.

Throughout 2026, Wolsey Writers will meet in the upstairs bar on almost every first Saturday of the month. (In April we meet on Saturday 11th April instead; and in August there is not a session.) Doors open 10am for 10:30am start (ends 12pm).
