Information - War Bastard / Nerve peel / Voluntary Redundancy / DoneWithWaiting

If you love your music fast, heavy, and full of energy, mark your calendars! We are excited to welcome a powerhouse line-up of metal and hardcore talent to The Smokehouse on Friday, 10th April 2026. It’s going to be a loud one, so get ready for a night of incredible riffs and high-octane performances right here in the heart of Ipswich.

Meet the Lineup

Headlining the night are War Bastard, a brutal 4-piece death metal band hailing from just down the road in Colchester. If you are a fan of lightning-fast technical riffs and those heavy, hardcore-inspired breakdowns that get the room moving, this is a set you absolutely cannot miss.

The support bill is equally packed with talent:

  • Nerve Peel: Bringing something truly unique to the stage, Nerve Peel blends extreme metal textures with underground electronic genres. Expect a “blackened-hardstyle” take on Digital Hardcore that will keep you on your toes.
  • Voluntary Redundancy: Formed in early 2025 and featuring members of local favourites like Volunteers and A Horse Called War, this group delivers punchy, one-minute Hardcore Punk songs. Their music is a sharp mix of political satire and cynicism, perfect for fans of fast, meaningful punk.
  • DoneWithWaiting: This four-piece is all about big riffs and huge breakdowns. Having recently released their debut demo, “I Don’t See What You See,” they are ready to show Ipswich exactly what they are made of with plenty of fresh material.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
