Russ Meyer’s 1968 film takes in racism, communism, bush pilots, draft dodgers and a ferociously free-spirited wife. Despite censorship and obscenity prosecutions it became a top-grossing film that reshaped independent cinema. Restored from the original negative by The Museum of Modern Art with The Russ Meyer Trust.
