Information - Vinyl Communion: Skunk Hour

If you’re looking to add a bit of energy to your Thursday night, we have a real treat for you! Whether you’re a fan of old-school warehouse vibes or you just love the authentic sound of records spinning, the next edition of Vinyl Communion is one you won’t want to miss.

A Journey Through 90s Underground Classics

Get ready to be transported back to the golden era of dance music. Skunk Hour will be taking over the decks at The Church, bringing a massive selection of 90s House, Garage, Breakbeat, and Jungle—all played exclusively on vinyl. It’s the perfect way to “cleanse your soul” with some high-energy beats and deep basslines in one of the most unique settings in Ipswich.

Cocktails, Beer, and Tasty Treats

While the music provides the energy, the bar has everything you need to keep the good vibes flowing. You can enjoy a expertly crafted cocktail, a cold beer, or grab some nibbles to share with friends. The Church Cafe/Bar is actually open from 12pm, so feel free to head down early to grab a good spot. The main DJ set kicks off at 5pm and runs right through until 10pm.

Free Entry? Hallelujah to That!

One of our favourite things about Vinyl Communion is that it is completely free entry. It’s a fantastic opportunity to enjoy world-class DJing and a great atmosphere without having to worry about a ticket price. Just bring yourself, your friends, and your dancing shoes!

Everyone is Welcome

The Church is a welcoming space for all. The venue features step-free access, and once you are inside, the bar, the main venue area, and the accessible toilets are all conveniently located on one floor. The team is dedicated to making sure your visit is as comfortable as possible, so you can focus on enjoying the music.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
