Information - Blank Page – Video game coding workshop with Stacey Rezvan

Join experienced video game coder and creative writer Stacey Rezvan for this free creative workshop for 10-16 year olds at Gainsborough Community Library, as part of The Blank Page Project! Write and code your own story-based video game with decisions and consequences.

Workshops take place from 9.45AM to 3.30PM and include a free lunch, drinks and snacks!

This workshop is designed to give young people access to writing script, analysing stories and writing code. The main goal will be to have participants create their very own interactive story which will be published on a public website for all to play. Interactive fiction, also known as visual novels, are stories that can be read on a computer which are often supported with pictures and music. Most interactive fiction contain choices, which the reader can interact with resulting in the story to change. Interactive fiction is a fantastic opportunity for students to consider different consequences to choices, as well as a myriad of skills in programming, art and creative writing.
