Information - Town Centre to Waterfront – Heritage Open Days’ event – Ipswich Tourist Guides’ Association

Join our guided walk to hear tales of some fascinating Ipswich characters, from a Victorian lady archaeologist to a wealthy medieval merchant for this Ipswich Heritage Open Days’ event.  You will discover how the River Orwell brought great prosperity to to Ipswich over its 1400 year history.

Ipswich Tourist Guides’ Association volunteer guides have over 30 years’ experience and a wide ranging knowledge of Ipswich’s past, present and future.  They offer scheduled, themed walking tours tailored to suit the interests of any group, and even ‘armchair’ walks at a static location.  They have all been trained as tour guides and are keen to share their knowledge of the history and culture of  our fascinating East Anglian port.

The walk will start from The Admiral’s House in Tower St and finish on The Waterfront.
