Information - Talk Club – How Are You? Out of 10?

Talk Club is a UK male mental health charity helping men to improve their mental health.

Confidentiality and respect are paramount to Talk Club.
We provide a safe space for men (18+) to share how they’re feeling, based on one fundamental question – How are you? out of 10?

Talk Club is a talking and listening group, not a therapy group.
Which is an important distinction to make.
I am not a mental health professional, but a TC Captain who has been trained to facilitate and support the group.

You can share as little or as much as you’d like during a talk club session, you will not be pressured, and you will not be asked any questions about what you share (unless solicited).

Every session follows the same structure, made up of 4 rounds:

  1. They start by asking ‘How are you? Out of 10?’…each man gives their number and why.
  2. Next round is what you’re grateful for this week?
  3. In the third we ask what can we do to take care of our mental fitness over the next week … big or small … could just be making sure you get that cup of tea in the morning or a walk during the day. Etc.
  4. We then check out. How are you now out of 10?

And that’s it.

On average, a TC talk and listen group raises a man’s mental fitness by over 15%.

It’s why local pubs to global corporates, and 18 to 80+ year olds across the world, are now using Talk Club.
