Information - Oliver Twist & The Plomesgate Union Workhouse

For Christmas 2026, Eastern Angles presents Oliver Twist & The Plomesgate Union Workhouse, a bold new adaptation with original music inspired by Charles Dickens’ timeless tale of the boy who wanted more.

Young Oliver dares to ask for more and is thrust into a thrilling adventure that sees him travel from rural Suffolk to bustling Victorian London, a journey filled with danger, humour and hope. Packed with unforgettable characters and heart, Oliver Twist is a perfect Christmas treat for families – a joyful story about kindness, courage and finding home.

Told through the eyes of four workhouse children living in the Plomesgate Union Workhouse, just outside Wickham Market, the story blends regional history with one of literature’s most loved classics.

Following our critically acclaimed adaptations of A Christmas Carol and Treasure Island, the production features a brilliant ensemble of professional actors, multi-roling, puppetry, inventive staging and live music.

Drawing on Suffolk’s heritage and Dickens’ enduring heart, audiences are in for a festive treat. Don’t pick pockets – book early while tickets remain.
