Information - Move and Code

Move and Code is a one-day workshop led by digital dance choreographer Rebecca Evans and computing specialist Su Adams. A full day that will get you moving, coding, and creating an interactive performance.

The morning will focus on warming up and using movement to create a short choreography. You will then use Crumbles controllers to build and code your own interactive lights. Following this, you will combine the choreography and light to create an interactive performance to test and share with other participants.

Move and Code is a fun day that introduces participants to innovative ways to combine dance and technology, building skills in creative thinking, collaboration, choreography, and programming.

No previous experience in dance or computing is needed but both are welcomed.

Children and young people from low-income households may be eligible to access this workshop for free. To find out more about our bursary places, please contact Sophie O’Connor on sophie.oconnor@danceeast.co.uk or call 01473 295230. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
