About the film
Lee Sang-il’s Kokuho tells the story of a fourteen-year-old yakuza member who, following his father’s death, is adopted by a renowned Kabuki actor. Growing up alongside the actor’s son, the two pursue careers in traditional theatre, their relationship evolving between brotherhood and rivalry.
Spanning decades of ambition, scandal, loyalty and betrayal, the film stars Ryô Yoshizawa, Ryûsei Yokohama and Mitsuki Takahata.
