Information - Ipswich Charter 825 Festival Concert

The Ipswich Charter825 Festival Concert: a concert of choral works including the masterpieces Handel’s  Hallelujah Chorus and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and featuring the World Premiere of a festival commission, an anthem for Ipswich by Matthew Heyburn.

Choirs and musicians from across the town gather to celebrate the 825th Anniversary of the Ipswich Charter granted by King John.

Enjoy an eclectic evening of rousing choral classics with performances by the Choir of Ipswich Minster, Ipswich Choral Society and many more…!

A massed choir of children, the enduring popularity of ‘Funky Voices’, the stirring sound of three of Ipswich’s most prestigious choral ensembles: what could be better than that? Add professional soloists, an exquisite Ukrainian duet and the chance to hear the world première of Anthem for Ipswich and we have a fantastic programme for the Ipswich Charter 825 Festival concert. Commemorate with the rising generation, our European neighbours and traditional friends all that the Charter embodied: freedom, opportunity, ambition. Let’s celebrate those values and carry them forward!

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
