Information - Hands On – Conservation In Practice – Family Day

Ever wondered what goes on behind closed doors at the Museum? What’s a Conservator? Where and how do things get ‘fixed’?
Join our Conservator for a hands-on session of object identification, condition checking, cleaning and packing.
These sessions involve handling taxidermy and objects which are in need of cleaning, therefore unsuitable to those with allergies to animal fur and dust. These sessions are fully accessible.
Family sessions are suited to families with children from age 5, younger siblings are welcome along to watch but will not be able to join in the session.
