Information - ‘Gawn Up’ Exhibition celebrates return to the Premier League

Ipswich Town and Ipswich Central have teamed up for a ‘Gawn Up’ summer exhibition celebrating the club’s return to the Premier League for the 2026/27 season.

The special photography exhibition honours the passion, pride, and unwavering support of Ipswich Town fans during the club’s promotion-winning 2025/26 season.

Hosted at Ipswich Town Hall from Friday 10 July to Sunday 19 July 2026, the free exhibition will showcase a powerful collection of images documenting the dramatic final stages of Town’s promotion-winning campaign, and the extraordinary connection between the club, its fans, and the town itself.

Taking its name from the banner seen at Portman Road on the final day of the season, ‘Gawn Up’ captures the spirit, optimism, and collective belief that carried Ipswich Town back to English football’s top flight.

Featuring work from acclaimed football culture photographers Adam Rosenbaum and George Dixon, the exhibition captures the emotion, anticipation, and jubilation that defined the closing weeks of the campaign. Visitors will also be able to view exclusive photographs taken by Ipswich Town players in the immediate aftermath of promotion being secured on the final day, offering a unique behind-the-scenes perspective on one of the most significant moments in the club’s modern history.

Adding to the collection will be a special selection of photographs taken by Ed Sheeran during Town’s memorable final day fixture against Queens Park Rangers, providing a personal and distinctive view of the promotion journey. The exhibition will also feature a host of images taken by Club Photographer Richard Calver, and representatives from Matchday Images.

More than a celebration of success on the pitch, ‘Gawn Up’ shines a spotlight on the supporters whose loyalty, passion, and belief helped drive the club back to the Premier League. Through intimate moments, scenes of celebration, and images from both the terraces and dressing room, the exhibition tells the story of a football club and a town united by a shared goal.

Gawn Up aims to tell the story of promotion through the eyes of the supporters who lived it. Fans are therefore being invited to share their own photographs, keepsakes, and memories from the games that secured the Blues’ return to the Premier League. Whether it’s a photo from the stands, a treasured ticket, a matchday programme or a personal story from one of the defining moments of the season, a selection of contributions will be considered for inclusion in the exhibition. Fan can get in touch by sending an email to harry.chenery@itfc.co.uk

The exhibition is free to attend and will be open daily at Ipswich Town Hall from Friday, 10 July to Sunday, 19 July.
