Information - Earth Mother Fucker / Pound Land / Rev Simpkins

Get ready for a monumental night of music as we celebrate a major milestone in the local scene! Antigen Records is marking its Silver Anniversary, and they are doing it in style at one of our favorite local venues, The Baths.

This isn’t just a celebration of 25 years of independent music; it’s also a historic moment for Ipswich’s very own EMF (Earth Mother Fucker). After 38 years in the making, these legendary “sexagenarian noise-rock malcontents” are finally launching their debut studio album, Do Not Resuscitate. This is a rare chance to catch a band that has been at the heart of the label since the very beginning.

Meet the Support Acts

The night features a fantastic lineup of labelmates to get the energy going:

  • Pound Land: Travelling down from Manchester, this group describes their sound as “post-industrial kitchen-sink punk-dirge absurdism.” Expect a gritty, high-energy performance that has been described by critics as a “jazz night terror.”
  • Rev Simpkins: By day, Matthew Simpkins is a vicar in Clacton-on-Sea, but by night, he is a powerhouse of the East Anglian music scene. He’ll be joined by Ben Brown (of SuperGlu and Dingus Khan fame) to perform tracks from their acclaimed 2023 collaboration, Pissabed Prophet.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
