Information - Constable 250 Workshop: My Favourite Place
On Thursday 28th May join Ipswich Art Society artist Allan Williams to create a unique painting of your favourite place. Inspired by Constable’s painting of the landscape of Suffolk, participants will be invited to think of their favourite place and capture it in paint. It could be real or imagined e.g. a favourite holiday destination or somewhere you like to go. Families are invited to bring photographs of their favourite places with them to inspire their work, however this is not essential to take part.
Sessions are 45 minutes long and start at 10:15 AM, 11:15 AM, 1 PM, and 2 PM. All materials will be provided along with full guidance. This event is suitable for ages 5+. Younger children may need help from an adult. Under-16s must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times.
This workshop will take place in the Great Hall, located on the ground floor. For helpful information, such as how to find us and what facilities Christchurch Mansion has, we recommend reading our Access information: Access at the Mansion
The Constable 250 project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we are able to deliver Constable inspired family holiday workshops March 2026 – March 2027.
