Information - Constable 250 Workshop: Fuzzy Face Portraits
On Thursday 2nd April join artist Jevan Watkins Jones to make a Fuzzy Face Felt Portrait inspired by portraits in the exhibition Constable: A Cast of Characters as part of Constable 250. Take a close look at Constable’s portrait paintings of family and friends. Spot rosy cheeks and hairstyles of the time. Sketch your idea, arrange your felting wool and then pop your fuzzy face inside your shoe and let the felting magic take place as you walk!!
Sessions are 45 minutes long and start at 10:15 AM, 11:15 AM, 1 PM, and 2 PM. All materials will be provided along with full guidance. This event is suitable for ages 5+. Younger children may need help from an adult. Under-16s must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times.
This workshop will take place in the Great Hall, located on the ground floor. For helpful information, such as how to find us and what facilities Christchurch Mansion has, we recommend reading our Access information: Access at the Mansion | Ipswich Museums
The Constable 250 project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we are able to deliver Constable inspired family holiday workshops March 2026 – March 2027.
