Information - Constable 250 Workshop: Constable Compositions

On Wednesday 28th October join Ipswich Art Society artist Stephen Joyce to create your own Constable inspired composition. Explore using drawing and painting to work as Constable did capturing various subjects and scenes and then putting them together in a single composition.

Sessions are 45 minutes long and start at 10:15 AM, 11:15 AM, 1 PM, and 2 PM. All materials will be provided along with full guidance. This event is suitable for ages 5+. Younger children may need help from an adult. Under-16s must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times.

This workshop will take place in the Great Hall, located on the ground floor. For helpful information, such as how to find us and what facilities Christchurch Mansion has, we recommend reading our Access information: Access at the Mansion

The Constable 250 project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we are able to deliver Constable inspired family holiday workshops March 2026 – March 2027.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
