Information - CoffeeSpace

CoffeeSpace is a community group that serves the Bixley Farm community. It runs every Friday from 2-3:30pm at Tower Hall, where Bixley Farm meet.

CoffeeSpace is a safe place for anyone of any and every age to come and meet others. We will provide you with free tea, coffee, biscuits and sometimes even cake. There is no charge.

There is no planned structure to the sessions. Many of us like to sit around and chat. We have a small group who go for a walk around the area for an hour and come back in time to join us for coffee and cake. We’ve celebrated special events with lunch together. We have done jigsaws, crochet and colouring.

The people running the group are Christians but many of the group aren’t. We have a Thought for the Day where Tracey shares something simple from the Bible. This lasts for around 5 minutes. We talk to each other about our lives so we may tell you about how our faith impacts on our lives but we won’t be trying to force our beliefs on you. We may offer to pray for you and will be happy to discuss what we believe, if you want us to. There will be no pressure to do this.

We would also like the group to reflect the interests of the members. If you’d like to suggest ideas then we would love to listen. Do you want to learn a new skill? Could you teach others a skill that you have? Are you looking for someone to play chess with?

Any of these things are possible. We won’t necessarily make them happen but we’d love to support you to do them.

Pride in Place

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
