Information - Charity Dinner and Fundraiser

Supporting community projects in the Gambia – come and join us for good food for a good cause!

This initiative aims to uplift vulnerable children, women, and entire rural communities by addressing essential needs in education, nutrition, spiritual wellbeing, and sustainable development. Depending on the total funds raised, the project will support and fulfil as many of the following components as possible:
📚 1. School Furniture
Providing durable chairs and tables to create a safe, comfortable, and effective learning environment for children. Many schools currently operate with inadequate or broken furniture, limiting students’ ability to learn and thrive.

🍽️ 2. School Kitchen Construction
Building a dedicated, hygienic kitchen facility to ensure daily meals can be prepared safely. This supports:
– Improved child nutrition
– Better school attendance
– A healthier learning environment

🕌 3. Women’s Prayer Room
Constructing a dedicated prayer space for women at a village mosque. This promotes:
– Inclusion
– Dignity
– Access to spiritual and community life

☀️ 4. Solar Panels for Irrigation
Installing solar-powered irrigation systems to support a communal women’s farming project. This will:
– Increase crop yields
– Reduce reliance on costly fuel
– Empower women economically
– Support multiple villages with sustainable food production

💧 5. Water Borehole Construction
Drilling a borehole to provide clean, reliable water for several villages. This addresses:
– Drinking water shortages
– Agricultural needs
– Hygiene and sanitation
– Reduced burden on women and children who often walk long distances for water
