Information - Cartoon Drawing Styles in 20 Century Magazines

This workshop, led by Simon Farr and Jennifer Hall, explores the diverse range of techniques used by cartoonists and illustrators in pre-internet times. We will examine how magazines such as Punch, Lilliput, the New Yorker, and many others have influenced the art of drawing people and situations. We will look at the works of renowned artists like Edward Ardizzone, Ronald Searle, Saul Sternberg, Walter Herriman and Peter Arno.
The event will consist of a 45-minute talk with pictures, followed by a 45-minute pen and ink drawing workshop. All materials will be provided.

Part of Art at the Heart of Ipswich, Celebrating 150 Years of Ipswich Art Society.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
