Information - BTCP: Ozric Tentacles

Get ready for a mind-bending musical journey right here in the heart of Ipswich! Brighten The Corners Presents is bringing the legendary Ozric Tentacles to the stage at The Church on Wednesday, 2nd December 2026.

Widely regarded as one of the most influential bands to emerge from the UK’s festival scene, Ozric Tentacles have been a staple of the psychedelic world for over four decades. Whether you are a fan of progressive rock, trippy soundscapes, or dance music culture, this is a night you won’t want to miss.

A Legacy of Psychedelia

Formed during the solstice at the Stonehenge Free Festival in 1983, the Ozrics have grown from a grassroots festival favourite to global psychedelic icons. The band’s creative engine, multi-instrumentalist Ed Wynne, has guided the group through a sonically illustrated excursion that now spans 17 albums.

From their early days selling cassettes at gigs to reaching the UK Top Ten with their 1993 album Jurassic Shift, the band has always marched to the beat of their own drum. You might even recognise their track “Sploosh!”, which famously featured in a BMW advertising campaign. Their latest release, Lotus Unfolding, celebrates their 40th anniversary and proves that their unique sound is as fresh and intriguing as ever.

The Venue & Atmosphere

There couldn’t be a more atmospheric setting for this show than The Church in Ipswich. Known for its incredible acoustics and unique vibe, it’s the perfect place to get lost in the band’s signature “trippy” soundscapes.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
