Experience Psych-Pop Magic with Hollow Hand

Get ready for an evening of enchanting melodies and sun-drenched rhythms! Brighten The Corners is thrilled to bring the Brighton-based psych-pop project, Hollow Hand, to the intimate setting of The Smokehouse this October. If you’re a fan of jangly guitars, 60s-inspired pop epiphanies, and rich, melodic folk-rock, this is a show you won’t want to miss.

About the Artist: Max Kinghorn-Mills

Max Kinghorn-Mills is the creative force behind Hollow Hand. Having recently signed to Loose Music, Max has been making waves across the music world. His 2023 release, Your Own Adventure, received glowing reviews from the likes of MOJO, Uncut, and BBC 6Music.

Hollow Hand has spent a lot of time on the road recently, serving as the house band for Caitlin Rose and supporting indie heavyweights like MJ Lenderman and Willie J Healey. These experiences have refined their sound into something truly special—described by The Line of Best Fit as “everything you ever thought you needed from ’60s pop, and a little bit more.”

A Rejuvenated Live Sound

This tour celebrates a new chapter for Hollow Hand. Moving away from the “bedroom producer” style of previous records, Max and his band—Oliver Newton on drums and Leo Clarke on bass—recorded their latest material live in their Brighton studio. The result is a sound that feels organic, warm, and full of life.

Expect a setlist that balances fragile, personal storytelling with infectious hooks. From the breezy folk-pop of “Here are the Tulips” to the power-pop energy of “Heavy Metal T-Shirt,” the music is designed to make you think, feel, and—most importantly—enjoy the moment.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
