Information - Biodiversity Discovery Day
Bring your finds along to Christchurch Mansion and put them in front of the experts. Specialists in natural history, geology, archaeology and astronomy — including the Ipswich Maritime Trust — will be on hand all day to identify objects and talk about them.
For younger visitors
Alongside the identification tables there are Halloween-themed activities for young children: free play, crafts and storytelling, with dedicated Terrifying Toddlers sessions for under-fives.
Good to know
Free, and no need to book — just drop in between 10am and 3pm on Wednesday 28 October 2026. Everything takes place on the ground floor and is fully accessible. Museum staff will also be there to talk about the collections during the redevelopment closure.
