A new 4K restoration of a British classic
Billy Fisher (Tom Courtenay) is a bored young man in the north of England, living with his demanding working-class family and working a dead-end bookkeeping job at a funeral parlour. Tangled in romantic promises to two women at once, he escapes into daydreams about a fictional country called Ambrosia.
When his former girlfriend Liz (Julie Christie) returns and offers him a way to start over in London, Billy has to choose between a real new beginning and staying trapped in his fantasies.
