Medellín in the late 1980s, seen through a stolen camera
Barrio Triste is a coming-of-age story set on the outskirts of Medellín, where a group of teenagers steal a reporter’s camera during a UFO investigation.
The camera then drifts through the neighbourhood, documenting the small details that make up their lives — a film that moves from a document of despair to something closer to transcendent.
