Information - Bark: The Bungees / Fighting Steaks / Harriet Cree

Get ready for an incredible evening of home-grown talent! We are so excited to highlight Bark, a special night of live music dedicated to celebrating and supporting the best artists Ipswich has to offer. Taking place at the stunning venue, The Church, this event is a fantastic collaboration between the short film project Bark and Brighten the Corners.

Bark started as a passion project between graduate artists who wanted to create something uniquely “Ipswich.” By attending, you’re not just enjoying a great gig; you’re supporting local cinema. Every penny of profit from the night goes directly toward funding the local independent short film, Bark. It’s all about making art for art’s sake!

The Lineup

We have a stellar variety of sounds waiting for you:

  • The Bungees: Prepare for an “earthquaking” performance! Returning to the scene in 2026, they bring a high-energy hybrid of rock, alternative, indie-pop, and psychedelic music that is sure to light up the stage.
  • Fighting Steaks: Hailing from the mid-Suffolk wilderness, this group brings a unique “fuzz-tinged progressive psychedelic punk rock” sound. Expect a wild, ragged musical journey through themes of beasts and broken bones.
  • Harriet Cree: An Ipswich-based singer-songwriter making her debut at The Church. Harriet is known for her powerful voice and positive vibes, representing the bright future of our local music scene.

Accessibility and Venue Info

We want everyone to feel welcome at The Church. The venue offers step-free access, and the bar, main floor, and accessible toilets are all located on a single level for your convenience. If you have any specific requirements to make your night more comfortable, please reach out to the venue organisers who will be happy to help.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
