Information - Blank Page – A Book in a Day workshop with Chris James

Plan and write a story and create your own cover art to make a book in a day with award-winning poet Chris James for this free creative workshop for 10-16 year olds at Ipswich County Library, as part of The Blank Page Project!

Workshops take place from 9.45AM to 3.30PM and include a free lunch, drinks and snacks!

One day creative writing and art workshop to create your very own book. It could be a sequel or a prequel to a book you love, or something completely brand new. The blank page awaits. We’ll learn the principles of good storytelling, using some classic examples. Then we’ll put these to use and create outlines for our own stories, using hints and tips along the way.

Once we’ve got our story outlines, we’ll have a go at writing a first chapter. Then in the afternoon we’ll design and illustrate a cover, along with a bookmark to go with it. It’ll be fun all the way.
