Looking for the perfect way to unwind as the weekend approaches? Here at Ipswich.love, we’ve got just the event for you—and best of all, it won’t cost you a penny! Join us at The Church in Ipswich for a heavenly evening of music, drinks, and great vibes at Vinyl Communion: Monkler Cry Radio.

Whether you’re a dedicated vinyl collector or just love a good beat, this is the ultimate Thursday night wind-down. Here is everything you need to know about this fantastic evening of music.

What’s the Vibe?

Prepare your ears for a wonderful musical journey! Monkler Cry Radio will be taking over the decks, spinning an eclectic mix from a vinyl collection built over many years. This isn’t your average DJ set—it’s a deep dive into soul, funk, disco, dusty beats, electronic bleeps, and those unexpected musical discoveries we all love.

Expect to hear everything from timeless soulful classics and rare grooves to trip-hop, downtempo rhythms, cosmic excursions, and the occasional delightful left-turn. It’s a beautifully relaxed soundtrack to ease you into the weekend, selected one record at a time.

Food, Drinks & Good Times

The Church Cafe/Bar will be open from midday, with the vinyl magic kicking off from 5pm. It is the perfect spot to head to straight after work! You can cleanse your soul with the all-night vinyl set while sipping on delicious cocktails, enjoying a cold beer, and grazing on some tasty nibbles.

Did we mention that entry is completely free? Hallelujah to that! It’s the perfect excuse to gather your friends, grab a drink, and soak in the wonderful, welcoming atmosphere of one of Ipswich’s most unique venues.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
