Ken Russell’s The Devils comes to King Street Cinema in a 4K restoration — the first cut released publicly that matches the director’s original vision, unveiled 55 years after the film first appeared, at the 79th Cannes Film Festival.
The film
Starring Oliver Reed and Vanessa Redgrave, it is a study of religious persecution, hysteria and institutional corruption, and one of British cinema’s most censored films. This restoration brings more than five decades of cuts to an end.
