Information - Ipswich Symphony Orchestra with Jeneba Kanneh-Mason

Ipswich Symphony Orchestra is proud to be performing for the third time at the Corn Exchange with a member of the celebrated Kanneh-Mason family.

Jeneba Kanneh-Mason will be soloist in the Beethoven’s 3rd piano concerto and at the age of 22 is already capturing audiences with her mature and engaging performances. Jeneba recently made her debut at the BBC Proms and has also been featured on several television and radio programmes, the BAFTAs, The Royal Variety Performance, and the BBC1 documentary, This House is Full of Music.

The programme also includes the much-loved 5th symphony of Ralph Vaughan Williams. First performed in at the Albert Hall in May 1943 during the most desperate period of World War 2, its serene beauty has been appreciated by audiences ever since.

Ipswich Symphony Orchestra has been performing concerts since 1902 and as one of the oldest amateur orchestras in the UK it has built an enviable reputation for adventurous and challenging programmes. Previous conductors include Sir Colin Davis and Rumon Gamba. Current conductor, Adam Gatehouse, has worked with the Orchestra since 2000, during which time the repertoire has been expanded and developed to encompass some of the greatest works of the orchestral repertoire, working with major world-renowned soloists including Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Benjamin Grosvenor, Steven Osborne, Nicola Benedetti and Julian Lloyd Webber.
