Information - Ipswich Music Day 2025 – first call for artist applications

Singers, bands and performers are being offered a chance to play live at a popular music event.

Ipswich Music Day will celebrate its 35th anniversary at Christchurch Park on 6 July.

Applications are now open for local acts to have the chance to perform to crowds at the free one-day event.

Neil MacDonald, Ipswich Borough Council leader, said last year the council received applications from over 300 artists.

“Ipswich Music Day is one of my favourite days of the entire year,” he said.

“It’s the highlight of the events calendar for the council, as well as our co-sponsors and everyone who makes Christchurch Park come alive with the sound of music, fun, and entertainment.

“Last year we received applications from over 300 artists, with 45 being successful and taking to the stages to perform live to audiences throughout the day.”

He added that the council hoped to attract more performers who could “bring an array of different musical genres”.

Six stages with a range of acts will be set up for the event along with fairground rides, activities, a market and food vendors.

An advisory group will review all applications with the closing date for these being 30 March.
