Information - IBC Tenant Monthly walkabouts – join us in your local area!

Ipswich Borough Council is committed to improving the way we work and engage with our tenants and leaseholders. Our Corporate Plan – Proud of Ipswich – has set priorities for meeting the housing needs of our community, including the aim to be an excellent landlord to council tenants.

We want our tenants to feel empowered to hold us to account and have opportunities to scrutinise and become actively involved in shaping the housing service. We recognise that good tenant engagement can bring benefits not only to our tenants but also to the Council. Tenant engagement ensures that we develop policies and services that meet the needs and aspirations of our tenants, creating genuine opportunities for them to influence decisions and increase levels of satisfaction.

We aim for maximum tenant engagement to enhance our service through meaningful engagement. We will develop more informal ways of engaging that do not require an ongoing time commitment by examining the best ways to engage both in person and digitally.

Have your say in housing services as we believe your voice matters. Tenant engagement is at the heart of ensuring our services meet your needs. Join us in shaping the future of housing services in Ipswich.

Monthly walkabouts – join us in your local area!
As part of our Engagement Calendar, Ipswich Borough Council is launching monthly walkabouts in local areas which are designed to bring tenants, councillors, housing officers, and tenant representatives together to make a difference where it matters most.

Open to all tenants, these walkabouts are a key way we can work together to keep our communities clean, safe, and thriving. Your voice matters, and we’d love to see you there.

The walkabouts last 1 – 2 hours and will be happening twice a month in various neighbourhoods across Ipswich Borough, with tenants welcome to attend.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
