Information - Afternoon Tea Walks – Backwaters of Ipswich

Ipswich Tourist Guides’ Association volunteer guides have over 30 years’ experience and a wide ranging knowledge of Ipswich’s past, present and future.  They offer scheduled, themed walking tours tailored to suit the interests of any group, and even ‘armchair’ walks at a static location.  They have all been trained as tour guides and are keen to share their knowledge of the history and culture of  our fascinating East Anglian port.

Walks start from the Ipswich Institute, 15 Tavern Street, Ipswich IP1 3AA at 1.30pm and include refreshments.

On a Walk you may hear about the history of Ipswich, and about its famous residents and visitors, including Dickens, Ransome, and Cardinal Thomas Wolsey. Information about Walks:

  • Please arrive 10 minutes early for registration. The duration of all walks is approximately 90 minutes, unless otherwise arranged.
  • Accessibility: All walks are designed for step free access. Assistance dogs are welcome.
