Information - The Saints Street Market
The Saints Street Market was founded in 2010, by I Make Fun Stuff, a craft collective who were running small craft markets at the Ipswich Town Hall. IMFS teamed up with Cathy Frost of Loveone and brought the market to an outside location on St Peter’s Street. The market brought much needed footfall and attention to our high street as many businesses were recovering from the financial crisis. There have been two markets most years since and it has become very much part of the Ipswich Events calendar.
Our market features over 30 local craft and artisan booths. They offer a variety of goods like textiles, jewelry, printmaking, vintage items, upcycled goods, and candles. In recent years, we’ve added many street food vendors and some excellent cake stalls. Our market’s goal is to support local talent. For some, it’s been a starting point to launch their businesses. The market’s popularity has increased over time, drawing large crowds. Supporting local shops has gained importance, especially post-pandemic. These events also boost local businesses, not just on market days, but through ongoing marketing efforts.
