Information - The Deep

An epic tale of survival, based on a true story

As night turns into day over the ice-cold waters of the North Sea, a young fisherman finds his boat sinking. As his hopes of survival drift away, we witness his journey through the hopes, fears, and regrets of his unresolved life.

Accompanied by live singing from regional choirs, this one-man show presents a profound story of survival and offers a moving remembrance to those lost at sea.

Written by Jón Atli Jónasson, The Deep was turned into a successful film in Iceland and won many awards including Best Filmscript of the Year.

Based on a remarkable true story.

At the Eastern Angles Centre’s Sir John Mills Theatre Thursday 26th – Saturday 28th September, 7.30pm everyday and 2.30pm Saturday matinée.
