Information - SIX: Teen Edition

Presented by Limelight Performers

Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived. From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the mic to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st-century girl power! This new original musical is the global sensation that everyone is losing their head over.

The New York Times says SIX is “pure entertainment!” and the Evening Standard hails SIX as “the most uplifting new British musical I have ever had the privilege to watch.

Limelight Performers are thrilled to be staging one of the first productions of the fan-favourite musical to be seen outside of the professional and educational settings! We’re also excited to bring the show to such a historic venue, which actually has a lot of history linking it to the story! Wolsey’s Gate sits right on the doorstep, which (along with St. Peter’s itself) is the only obvious reminder of a school founded by Thomas, Cardinal Wolsey, a native of Ipswich who rose to become the most powerful man in the kingdom under Henry VIII. Unfortunately Wolsey fell from power over his failure to secure papal approval for Henry VIII to divorce his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, and was arrested for treason but died before he could be put on trial. Construction of the school then ground to a halt, but not until after some major redesigning of St. Peter’s took place, and the gate was built, which can all still be seen to this day!
